The Amenities & Open Spaces Committee makes recommendations to the Full Town Council on matters relating to outside public facilities and areas under Marlborough Town Council’s upkeep such as the children’s play areas, the cemetery, the Common, the Priory Gardens, sports grounds and other small parcels of land in the Town. The Committee also administers some of Marlborough’s sports facilities, the allotments, and considers applications from travelling circuses and fairs. The Committee must also deal with unpleasant problems such as litter, dog fouling, broken street furniture, vandalism and pigeon control for example.
The Chairman of the Amenities & Open Spaces Committee for the Municipal Year 2007/2008 is Councillor Bryan Castle and the Vice-Chairman is Councillor Richard Pitts. The other Members of the Committee are: |
