Planning Committee

Each elected Member of the Marlborough Town Council sits on the Planning Committee however the Mayor is ex-officio, which means that they do not vote. The Chairman of the Committee for the Municipal Year 2011/2012 is Councillor Mrs Margaret Rose and the Vice-Chairman is Councillor Mrs Elizabeth Marian Hannaford-Dobson.

The Planning Committee receives copies of Planning Applications put forward for the Parish of Marlborough only; applications for villages outside of the Parish will be sent to their Parish Clerks (see your Parish contacts for an A-Z list of Parishes).

The Committee considers each application and sends their observations to the Planning Authority for this area (Wiltshire Council) who make the final decision to authorise or refuse planning consent.

For more details on the planning process and details on how the system works, or to find out if you need planning permission, follow this link to The Planning Portal.
